We truly enjoyed the beauty of the entrance atrium of the San Diego Museum of Art in La Jolla. Majestic and spiritual with exraordinary light, and well curated exhibitions throughout.

When renovation works: The new design of the formal dining room at La Valencia Hotel is spot on, and impeccably done. It gives a nod to the classic mediterranean design with a fresh transitional touch. Kudos to the designer Linda Snyder of Linda Snyder Associates. A pleasure to see, and to dine.

Sadly, the former beloved Whaling Bar at the hotel has been contemporized and “coffee shopped” beyond recognition, and it is devoid of charm or anything remotely contextual. Still, a pleasure to visit the Grand old Hotel and spend the day in La Jolla at the San Diego Museum nearby.
