We were more than excited to attend the elegant press preview for the new Broad Museum downtown, and watched the event planners set up the press conference early in the morning. Over 60 news crews, and 200 journalists were present for the occasion. The museum is stunning inside and out, and reflects a honeycomb-like exterior, and a vault-like interior, housing some outstanding works from the Broad Collection including pieces by Cy Twombly,… Read More

We just had the pleasure of attending Raymond Saunders Recent Work Opening Exhibition at the Lora Schlesinger Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.  This will be his 10th solo exhibition with Lora Schlesinger Gallery. Communication Arts + Design stopped by the Laguna Beach Museum of Art in late August to see the permanent exhibition on view.  We also loved the special show on seaside works from the 20th century, including this beautiful oil on canvas depicting Laguna Beach in 1927 by the noted painter Clarence Hicks.

Christine Anderson was happy to spend a few moments with Ed Moses at his closing reception at the William Turner Gallery, and to speak with him about his provocative acrylic on paper series, Baccarat.  Ed Moses continues to challenge himself by exploring new territory with the works on view, which were simultaneously stunning and complex.  What an honor to spend a few minutes discussing art with one of the greatest living contemporary… Read More

We attended the spectacular gala opening for Frank Gehry at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on September 9th. The exhibition is outstanding, smart, provocative and incredibly comprehensive. Kudos to Mr. Gehry for a lifetime of spectacular international projects. This show is a gem in every respect despite the 100 degree humid weather (sympathies to all the men in jackets), the art and architecture world turned out in full force for… Read More

The evening was a huge success, as guests sipped on sustainably sourced cocktails and… Read More
